The Margins to Centre conference is a student-run conference by undergraduate students in the University of York´s history department, that seeks to shed light on the voices and experiences of those who have been sidelined or rejected within dominant historical narratives. This year, our conference is on Identity, and is split into two parts: How marginalised communities express themselves and define their own identity, and how certain identities are imposed upon marginalised communities through external factors, such as social change and politics. This conference aims to bring together researchers, whether professors or postgraduates, from across Yorkshire, to discuss their research into this topic.
